Solomon # 4
Activity:

We know from the story of Solomon # 4 that Solomon forgot about YHWH.
We know that he made bad choices.  He followed his wives and their gods, instead of following YHWH.
The following activity will help you remember to always follow YHWH only.
We all need to stop and ask YHWH what to do when we are not sure about something.
Pray to YHWH and ask for his guidance to show you the right path.

The following activity will help you remember to follow YHWH, and YHWH only.
It will also let others know that you follow YHWH only, and not other gods.

Things You Will Need:

*  1 Foam Page (any color)
*  Printer (to print out the visor pattern)
*  Markers or Paint ( to decorate your visor)
*  Plastic twirly rope (to hold the visor to your head)
Variations:
Instead of using the plastic twirly rope, you can use a shoe string, or braid pieces of yarn together.  These will hook to each end of the back of the visor and then tied together so that your visor will stay on.

What To Do:

First Print out the pattern.  It is best to go to "file" then "Print Preview".  Make sure the visor is going to fit on one page.
Next, Print it out, and then cut out the pattern.
Use the pattern to lay on a foam sheet.  You can use a pen to trace around your pattern, onto the foam sheet.
Next, cut out your foam visor.  (Don't throw away the scrap foam yet).
Cut 2 small squares out of the scrap foam, so that the squares will fit at the end of you visor (as shown in the pattern).  Glue the square in place on both ends.
Make a hole just big enough for your braided yarn, shoestring, or twirly plastic to fit in the hole.  Try not to get the hole to big. Put whatever your using (
braided yarn, shoestring, or twirly plastic) through the visor and the square scrap.
Tie one good knot at the end so it doesn't come back out the hole.
Now you can wear your visor whereever you go.  Just tie the straps that you made, and away you go.  :0)
If you get a twirly plastic string, then you only need one piece.  Tie either end, in both ends of the visor.  The twirly string is stretchy a little bit, and you won't need to tie it.
You might also want to use a piece of elastic also.  Just thread one end to one end of the visor, and make a knot.  Take the other end of the elastic and put through the hole in the other end of the visor and tie a knot.  No need for tieing.  This works well for the smaller children.  :0)

Last, (and most fun) get the markers or paints.
Write, "I Follow YHWH" on the visor.
Next, decorate your visor the way you'd like.
You can get stencils to help you decorate it, or print some pictures online (with parent's help), and then cut out your own stencils to use.
Have FUN,
And
LEARN
LOTS
From YHWH.
