This is a very easy project that
children will like. The directions are already on the
camel so you won't loose them, and
also there are some suggestions. Depending on the age of the
child, they will be able to help at
different stages of this activity, either from the very start from
cutting out the pattern, and the material, sewing, or just stuffing the
camel, or decorating. Whatever age, and whatever stage
of helping with the project, the
children will love this project. One of the ideas that is partly
on the camel pattern is; Cut and sew a small blanket for
the camel. You could cut and sew
several of different colors. Sew or glue some velcro to the hump,
or sides of the camel, and then velcro to the underneith of your
blanket. The children will love changing
the blankets on the camel, and this
will also help little children learn their colors. If you also want to tack numbers
and letters to each blanket, the
child(ren) will also be able to learn their numbers and letters. Great Learning Project all
around. :0)
Other ideas would be to
use some beads for the collar. Have some of the beads hang down
off the pad that you make above, and down off the collar to look like
jewels. Imaginations could go wild
here. :0)
Okay, Now to the project. After much trial and error, I
finally have a great pattern made.
I've sewn and stuffed some, and they look great.
