Shabbat Shalom to Everyone! I hope that everyone had a
good week. I pray that everyone has a blessed, joyful, and
restful Shabbat!
Below are the links to this weeks Lesson Plan, Worksheets, Puzzles, and Coloring pages.
I also have some lesson ideas below.
1.) Click the link below for the family tree print
out. Start with Israel and fill out his family tree.
Include all his wives and children, and his children's wives and
children. You might need to make several copies.
2.) Take some index cards. On each index card write
one of the 12 children of Israel on the front. Then, on the back
of the card, write the names of the wive(s) and children of that
man. Now you have an easy way to study and learn the names of
each of Israel's son's and who they married, and who their children
were. You can make a 13th card for Israel also.
3.) You can do one of the ideas above, or you can also use the index cards (#2) to help you fill out the family tree (#1).
4.) If you'd like. You can take 13 more index cards, and
write the names of each of the 12 brothers on them, write Israel's name
on the 13th one. Now you can lay out the 13 index cards with the
names of each man facing up. Shuffle the other cards that you
have made in #2, with the names facing down. Now, try not to look
on the back. Get one or more people to play, and see who can
match all the family members to the right husband/father.
Example: One of your index cards from #2 should have Joseph's
name on it, with his wife and children on the back. You now
should have another index card with only Joseph's name. You would
take the index card from #2 idea, and lay it on top of the index card
with Joseph's name, that you just made for this idea (#4).
5.) Look up Egyptian Chariots. See what kind of
information you can find out about the chariots made at the time Joseph
was still alive. Find out what the chariots looked like, what
they were used for, and the different ways that the chariots were made.
6.) Use one of the maps at the links below. Draw a
line from where Israel and his family was living, to where they are
moving (close to Joseph). See if you can find the area where
Israel stopped to offer sacrifices to YHWH, and mark it on your map
also. Now you can draw the people on the map if you like, along
with the horses and chariots.
