Genesis Chapter 17

Genesis Chapter 17:

 Genesis Chapter 17 Lesson Plan

Genesis Chapter 17 words are coming from the NIV version.  There are some vocabulary words that you might not think your child is old enough to understand at this time in this study.  I reccomend that you go over the vocabulary words first before presenting it to the child.  All of the vocabulary words are used in some of the puzzles and worksheets also.

I think that if something is in the Tanakh then it is something that YHWH wants us to know and learn, and also to something that we should teach our children.  There are children though that receive these studies though where the parents may think that the information is not at your child's level.  This is why I try to put the studies together for all age groups.

If you have any comments or suggestions.  Please email me.

Thank you

Other Projects and Studies for this Chapter:

1.    Draw or find a map of Canaan.  Show where Abraham and his family were camped.  Show the land YHWH promised to him and his descendants.  Color the land, water, ect..

2.    After coloring the above picture of Abraham.  Cut him out, and glue the picture to some construction paper.  Then glue to a piece of cardboard.  Cut the picture out again in puzzle pieces.  You can make the make the pieces large or small depending on your age.

Hint:  One trick is to write a number on the back side of each piece you cut (as you cut out the pieces).  Then if you get stuck putting the puzzle together later, you can look on the back to see where it goes.  :)

Also, after you have put the puzzle together, you can then glue the pieces on a thinner piece of cardboard (in the correct order).  Let dry really good.  Then carefully take 2 Tablespoons of glue, and about 4 or 5 drops of water (to water down the glue just a bit), and then paint the wet glue over your picture.  Let dry really good.  Now you have a hanging puzzle.  The wet glue will keep your art work in good condition.  :)

3.    Take a sheet of paper, and think about all the promises that YHWH has promised already.  Don't look in your Torah yet.  Write down all the ones you can remember.  When you think that you have them all written down, then go back to the Torah and see if you are correct.

4.    See if you can write down or recite to your parents the ten commandments yet without looking.

You can write each commandment on a line of notebook paper, or write each one of them on a seperate index card.   Don't put the numbers on the front with the commandment.  You can write the number on the back.  Next mix up the index cards, or the cut pieces of paper (from notebook paper), and practice putting them together in order.
