Activities:

1. Look up information in the TNK, encyclopedia, or other sources to find out how life was at the time of Moses. Find out what Moses would of learned from living with the Pharaoh's daughter and in the Pharaoh's house?

2. Look down this web page to number 35, where it says "Moses is Born". You will need Acrobat Reader to view this file.

3. Moses Craft Story Idea: Moses in the Bulrushes
NOTE: Good Craft idea but, Beware of the ad at the bottom of the page.

4. Another good activity is making your own basket as Moses' mother did. It's up to your parents if you do this activity on Shabbat or not. Here are a few links for some basket making ideas, and directions. If you do make a basket, you will find lots of uses for it.

5. If you don't want to make a basket, you can look up information about baskets, and the different shapes, sizes, and uses of baskets there are. Below are a few interesting web sites.

6. Today baskets are made out of different material than they were at the time of Moses' birth. Find out what the different materials baskets are made out of today. Also, see if the same material, papyrus is still available for basket making.

7. Moses' mother put Moses in the basket and in the Sea of Reeds. The Pharaoh's daughter also took her bath in the Sea of Reeds. Look on a map and find out where the Sea of Reeds is. The reeds that grew in the Sea of Reeds were used to make many different things, not just baskets. Look up Reeds online or in an encyclopedia and find out other things besides baskets that the reeds were made into. See if some of these things are still made out of the reeds today.
